Yesterday I was walking along the beach here in Key Biscayne, where I am visiting currently. I was dealing with an overwhelming sadness from trying to let go of someone I feel is a soul mate of mine, and I struggled to understand why I couldn’t move on. I felt like I had to overcome a huge and challenge of mine. I know we had a strong bond that reached beyond this lifetime, but I also had to overcome something within myself and this pattern I had created.
In the midst of my thinking, I looked down to the side of the shoreline, and I saw a long, small, fish swimming next to me. It was a needlefish. Wondering how long it had been swimming next to me, I continued to walk, and it followed. He seemed to be staring at me with his little eye as I remembered that I tend to attract animal spirits/ medicine because I always do my best to listen to their messages. As soon as I asked (in my head) What is it that you want to tell me? He stopped and swam away. He deeply touched me during this time where I was struggling, just through his existence and the way he showed up to help.
Of course, I found it very interesting that it was a fish that showed up with a message as usually, it is a land creature that has something to say. However, his message was clear, you need to let go, surrender to the deep love of self and of source, it was time to heal on a deeper level, and it was going to be a bit painful, and sharp like a needle.
According to different records of history, legends, native, and ancient wisdom, seeing a fish can be a sign that its spirit is coming forth as a guide reminding us of our feminine side.
That is reminding us that it’s time to dig deep into emotions that you keep tucked beneath the surface of your life in order to explore ourselves and how we truly feel and reconnect to the source energy.
The fish spirit tells us to nurture ourselves as the Great Mother would, then swim freely toward your next great adventure as a renewed you. It further reminds us to connect with purposeful movement and mindful independence, so that we more easily deal with rough currents that sometimes hinder a goal. When Fish begin appearing in your life, pay attention to how they present themselves, what kind of fish are they and what are their qualities?
I identify with this fish spirit through my independence, as I could never be like a goldfish in a bowl, I thrive off the freedom the sea provides. Many that have a Fish totem/ energy are so fiercely independent that they’re often tempted to swim upstream and against the grain, perhaps at the expense of others or oneself. But, People with Fish energy adapt to a variety of circumstances easily, as they also swim easily along the current and weather storms.
Furthermore, if you are a water sign or have a fish totem you do not simply have a strong affinity for water but, need to connect with living water regularly for your wellbeing. You may have prophetic dreams or intricately correct gut instincts, where fish spirit or energy can be very helpful if when endeavoring to learn about divinatory arts. You might also strive to develop your spirit and your mind even on a professional level. Fish energy will inspire and help liberate if you find yourself attaching too strongly to a person or a thing.
Some of the interpretations for Fish include:
- The Unconscious or Higher-Self
- Feelings
- Motives
- Health
- Intelligence and Thought Processes
- Stretching Limits
- Deeper Awareness
- Fertility, Birth, and Rebirth
- Inventiveness
- Luck
- Change
- The Sacred Feminine
- Water Element
The fact that the Fish that presented itself to me was a needlefish further baffled me due to its’ similarity to the horoscope sign, Scorpio if it was living in the water. Besides Scorpio being the most intuitive sign and hence being very good at the divinatory arts, it also has a stinger to protect itself when hurt. Just as the needlefish has a long, sharp, beak that can kill when feeling threatened, even its behavioral qualities, like swimming close to the surface reminded me of how I am a deep person, yet I can enjoy the superficial and like the playfulness of it.
It is interesting how we can see ourselves reflected through different animals and use them to learn more about ourselves if we just stay open to it.
On top of the needlefish, we happen to be in the midst of having a full moon in Pisces today, giving way to a very emotional time, especially if you are born in water sign like me, Scorpio, Cancer, or Pisces.
As the full moon always magnifies and illuminates what has been in the shadows it is a great time to produce greater understanding of our life and where we are heading.
This full moon is a sextile in Uranus which means brings greater personal freedom, stimulating encounters and exciting events.
You might actively seek out change since you feel more open to trying something new in your domestic routine or personal life. It should also be easier to express the more unique side of your personality. Chances to encounter new people will arise that may lead to new friendships and instant attraction. Your intuition might be enhanced so you listen to it and allow yourself to be guided to make quicker decisions, follow your instincts to make the most of new opportunities to make positive changes. The Full moon in September 2020 is also good for breaking old habits and replacing them with something new.
The Full moon together with the other constellations in Venus, Saturn and Mars might trigger you to feel anger, frustration, disappointment, and delays in relation to your love life and finances. This means that a deep-seated, long term issue that has been building for weeks can make you feel impatient and frustrated and its caused by the restrictions of desires. There is a risk of damage to a love relationship or your bank balance if you lose your patience, so try to stay optimistic and trust that everything will work out in the best way. If you choose to let go off old grudges and stubbornness, there’s a great chance of good luck coming your way.
As the full moon is illuminating The Virgo-Pisces polarity, it can challenge the need of having balance in our daily life between the practical and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo), visions and dreams concerning the future, spiritual wellbeing, chaos, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules our need to be organized and to have control and to deal with practical day- to day stuff while Pisces rules the need for limitlessness and replenish our soul.
The key to balance between the two lies in identifying, honoring and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. To avoid living in chaos or excessive order, try to take time for both practical and spiritual goals setting. Make sure that you spend equally as much time on the physical as well as spiritual practices not to burn out.
Going forward it is important to consider how you are listening to the animals, birds, insects and fish around you.
- Are you paying attention to the messages being sent to you from spirit? Also, during this time especially check in how you are nurturing yourself, and how you might be connecting back to source.
- Are you drinking and eating what you need? Are you exercising?
- Are you honoring the feminine aspects of yourself?
- Are you taking time to rest when you need?
- What are the things you are holding on to emotionally and why?
- How can you let go of what is no longer serving you and move on?
During this full moon, take the time to ponder on these things and set some goals to allow yourself to move forward to new adventures and do something that makes you smile. If you need help setting goals for yourself, please allow me to help you achieve your goals. Sign up for a FREE consultation session here.
I am ending this with one of my favorite quotes:
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip, and it can crash. Become water, my friend”.
